Contraction - Expansion of Metals with Liquid Nitrogen

The application of shrink fitting is a technique used when metallic shafts, cylinders (bushings), or other metal components need to be inserted into a hole. Using liquid nitrogen, temporary and rapid contraction is achieved in the metal part, allowing it to fit into the hole. Then, when it returns to ambient temperature, it expands so much that it seals completely. With liquid nitrogen, a temperature difference of up to 200°C can be achieved.

REVIVAL is the most specialized and experienced partner in cryogenic applications like this, with specially equipped tanker trucks and suitably trained personnel. Upon contact, we can come to the work site (port, workshop, etc.) for as long as necessary and with as much liquid nitrogen as needed until the application is completed.
